Thank you for your interest in our Computer Science Postgraduate program at UWC.

Capacity in our programme are limited. Our priority at this time is to increase the numbers of South African applicants before consideration to the foreign applicants  in our postgraduate programme. Currently, there are no deparmtnetal bursaries available.

Duration of course

Our MSc and PhD programme are both research based degrees.

Full Time: 2 year duration for MSc degree and 3 year duration for PhD degree

Part Time: A maximum duration of up to 3 years for a MSc degree and a maximum duration of up to 5 years for a PhD 

Requirements

The applicant should be in possession of a Bachalor of Science Honours degree in Computer Science or an equivalent 4 year Bachelor’s degree with a Computer Sceince major. Applications should be submitted by 30 September.

The applicant has the responsibility to seek a supervisor within their research field. Please contact the supervisor via email with your MSc or PhD proposal and CC fjacobs@uwc.ac.za

International Applicants

All applicants who did not obtain their qualifications in South Africa / Non South African students, must please submit all your qualifications to SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) for an evaluation. For an application fee, SAQA will evaluate your qualifications. You can visit their website at www.saqa.org.za for more information. We cannot respond to your application until you submit a certificate issued by SAQA stating the NQF level of your qualifications.
