Biography
Professor Isabella Venter is a South African citizen, who obtained her doctoral degree in 2000 from the University of Pretoria. She held positions at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Faculty of Military Science, Stellenbosch University and the Business School of Stellenbosch University before joining the Computer Science department at the University of the Western Cape. She acted as Chairperson of the department from 2005 to 2017 and is currently still the chairperson of the Management Committee of the Telkom/Aria Technologies Africa Centre of Excellence. Her research interest is Computer Science Education, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Information Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D).
