Biography

Mr. Clayton Baker holds an M. Sc. in Computer Science (with distinction) from the University of Cape Town. While joining the Department of Computer Science at the University of the Western Cape as a full-time lecturer, he is also completing a Ph. D. His research interests include artificial intelligence, knowledge representation and reasoning, and data science. He is affiliated with the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR) and Artificial Intelligence Research Unit (AIRU) in South Africa. 

Clayton has presented his research in several international  (IJCAI, KR and NMR) and local (SACAIR) conferences. He was selected, from a global pool of mathematics and computer science student applicants, to participate in the 9th Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF). He is also actively involved as an academic citizen, having reviewed papers for journals (JAL), conferences (as PC for AAAI and as subreviewer for Springer Proceedings), and workshops (CAKR).
