Kessel Okinga-Koumou is a Mastercard Foundation scholar pursuing a MSc in Computer Science at UWC under the supervision of Dr Isafiade, and co-supervised by Dr Kotze. Her research focuses on developing an innovative research asset management system using the publish-subscribe mechanism and immersive technology to foster the sharing of assets among researchers. Kessel was recently nominated as one of the Mastercard Foundation scholars to participate in the Sciences Po Summer School, which will be held in Paris, France, from Saturday, June 1st to Friday, June 28th, 2024. Additionally, she was selected as one of the 200 most qualified young researchers from around the world who participated at the 10th Heidelberg Laureate Forum, held at Heidelberg in Germany, from September 24 to 29, 2023. Furthermore, Kessel is the current Chairperson of the UWC Women in Computer Science (WiCS) Society.
